Small class sizes, accomplished faculty, top-notch campus
facilities: With so many Austin schools claiming the same
level of excellence, how does one stand apart?
At St. Andrew’s Episcopal School, helping your child realize
their full potential is our mission. Yes, St. Andrew’s boasts
small class sizes that ensure every child is known by our
teachers. Yes, our faculty creates dynamic classroom experiences, and our facilities continue to grow with 21st-century
But our graduates are more than academically prepared for
a competitive world. They are connected to their own sense
of identity and purpose, a personal motivation that will help
them thrive in times of uncertainty and prosperity.
How do we shepherd students on this important journey? Our
social emotional learning (SEL) curriculum complements our
daily chapel services. SEL takes many forms: elementary school
students learn how to name their emotions, middle schoolers
visit with high schoolers to discuss social challenges and meet
in daily advisory groups to connect, seniors help freshmen
transition to life on campus with small group activities, and
college counselors work closely with seniors to determine the
best college fits that will lead to successful experiences.
These growing skills in self-awareness, confidence, and
empathy are reinforced in daily chapel. Our chaplains
proclaim the dignity of every student as a child of God,
encourage students to grapple with tough questions,
and invite other faith leaders to our campuses to discuss
tolerance and compassion.
How do we know our graduates have succeeded on their
journey? They are doing amazing work all over the world.
Our alumni consistently comment on how holistically
prepared they are for college. Many college admissions
counselors remark at the way our students are able to
self-advocate through outreach, and how they demonstrate
St. Andrew’s Four Pillars of achievement - Scholar, Artist,
Athlete, and Servant - are all strongly supported by our
faculty, coaches, chaplains and staff, who have a passion
for inspiring the very best from our students so that they
graduate with a resilience and confidence to make this
world a better place.
